Republic Airlines Brings Embraer RJ to ATP-Phoenix
Republic Airlines flew an Embraer 145 painted in United Continental colors into ATP’s Flight Training Center at Mesa-Gateway airport in Phoenix and put it on display for the Instructors and Students there to look over. Republic is hoping that the jet appeals to them and that they will join Republic to fly even bigger and better aircraft in the near future.

Flying the Line: Surf Air
Doyle Tonneson began flight training with ATP at our Bowling Green Kentucky Flight Training Center in July of 2013. Doyle already had his Private Pilots License so he moved quickly through his training, acquiring his Instrument and Multi-engine ratings as well as his Commercial Certificates. At that point Doyle decided that he would take advantage of an opportunity that he had to fly a Cirrus SR22 to gain flight experience as well as make a living. Doyle then accepted a job flying a Pilatus for Boutique Air before going to Surf Air to do the same. We contacted Doyle and asked him to tell us about his career, and one alternative to flight instructing to build flight experience.

Compass Airlines to Fly 20 E175 Regional Jets for American Airlines
Compass Airlines announced today that it will fly 20 new 76-seat Embraer E175 aircraft that have been awarded to Compass by American Airlines. Delivery of the new Jets will begin in the first quarter of 2015, and they will be flown under the American Eagle brand. American also announced that Compass may be awarded additional E175s in the future.

PSA to Fly 30 New CRJ900 NextGen Jets for American Airlines
Aircraft manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace has delivered the first of 30 improved CRJ900 NextGen aircraft to American Airlines Group (AAG). The new aircraft will be operated by American Airlines Group subsidiary, and ATP Regional Partner Airline, PSA Airlines under the American Eagle brand. AAG also has options to purchase an additional 40 CRJ900 NextGen aircraft. PSA has already begun to hire additional pilots to fly the new Jets.

Endeavor Air to Delta Hiring Program is a Glimpse into the Future
As I mentioned last week, Endeavor Air is partnering with parent company Delta Air Lines to attract the best pilots to both carriers with a new hiring program. Beginning June 15, the new Endeavor-to-Delta Pilot Hiring and Commitment Program (EtD Commitment) will use Delta’s rigorous hiring protocol to insure that every new Endeavor pilot will receive a commitment to be hired by Delta.

Endeavor Air has announced that they are partnering with Delta Air Lines, which owns Endeavor, to increase the recruitment of pilots at both Endeavor and Delta with a new hiring program. Beginning June 15, the new Endeavor-to-Delta Pilot Hiring and Commitment Program (EtD Commitment) will begin to screen prospective new-hire pilots for Endeavor which will allow every new Endeavor pilot hired under this program to receive a commitment to be hired by Delta as soon as they meet Delta’s hiring requirements.

Flying the Line: PlaneSense
John Kreitzburg began flight training with ATP in September of 2012 when he began working on his Private Pilots License. By March of 2013 he had completed his training and held a Commercial Multi along with his CFI, CFII and MEI.
