ATP Grads Get The Jobs!

The best part of my job at ATP is watching the pilots who come to us for training and job placement get the most from their training and achieve their career goals. I want to share a message I received today from just a pilot. He came to us after taking some time away from flying and wanted to get back into the aviation industry, which he has done in a big way. Alaskan Airlines to Hire More Pilots Soon

Alaskan Airlines will open a short application window soon. The carrier will be taking new applications beginning December 16th, and ending December 29th of this year. Previous applicants will have to reapply as old applications will be removed from the database. New-hire classes of 6 and 7 will be offered in October and November, respectively. Alaskan will be reviewing previously submitted applications from earlier in 2013, as well as new applications.

ATP Expands Again – New Flight Training Centers Makes Total 35

ATP has expanded its current 31 flight training centers, with the introduction of five new locations. Opened this past September, students in the Dallas and Houston metro areas now have the added convenience of new training centers in McKinney, TX and Southwest Houston, respectively. ATP also opened the St. Louis training center that same month. Coming soon, the Pacific Northwest will be greeted with flight training centers in Portland and Seattle.

Thanksgiving air-travel up 1.5%; US carriers expand to accommodate them

United States airline industry group, Airlines for America (A4A), has projected that 25 million passengers have flown on US airlines this Thanksgiving travel period—Nov. 22 through Dec. 3—an increase of 1.5% from 2012. It is expecting 31,000 more travelers per day. Aircraft will be “more than 85% full on the busiest travel days, which are Wednesday, Nov. 27 (2.42 million passengers), Sunday, Dec. 1 (2.56 million passengers) and Monday, Dec. 2 (2.36 million passengers),” A4A said in a statement.
