American Eagle’s division of The Air Line Pilots Association has sent out an update from the union’s most recent meeting with American Eagle president and CEO Dan Garton. The meeting focused on the potential spinoff of American Eagle by AMR Corporation. AMR is the holding company which owns American Eagle as well as American Airlines.
SkyWest Buys ExpressJet for $133 Million
Regional airline operator SkyWest Inc. said Wednesday that its
Atlantic Southeast subsidiary would acquire ExpressJet Holdings Inc. for about
$133 million in cash.

US Airline Traffic Rises in June
US Airline companies have reported their June 2010 traffic
results. Airlines traffic, measured in billions of revenue passenger miles,
increased from an improvement in the global economy, improved business travel,
international traffic and rising fares. Airlines are increasing their capacity
in order to restore profitability and posted higher unit revenue growth for the
month of June.
Republic Airways Announces Plan to Acquire 24 Embraer 190 Jets
Republic Airways Holdings Inc.announced today it has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Embraer to acquire 24 new
Embraer 190 aircraft with the option to convert any of the aircraft in the
order to the larger Embraer 195 model. The LOI is subject to final
documentation, including final commercial terms.
