Airline Industry Outlook is Upbeat

The cost of oil spiked in mid 2008, quickly followed by the worst economic downturn in
over eight decades, causing an immediate downturn in the airline industry. Now,
with the economy on the mend, demand for air travel is increasing from preceding
year’s depressed levels.

ATP Will Be at the AOPA Aviation Summit 2010

Like thousands of other pilots and aviation enthusiasts, I
will be attending AOPA’s Aviation Summit in Long Beach, California on November
11th through 13th. I gave a presentation at the Aviation Summit
last year in Tampa and promised myself that I would attend every one of them in

AirTran Reports Increase in Third Quarter Profit – Announces Seating Capacity to Rise 3-4%

AirTran Holdings, Inc.,the parent company of AirTran Airways, Inc., today reported a net profit of $36.3 million forr the third quarter of 2010. During the quarter, the Company reported operating income of $56.7 million. AirTran Holdings Inc. will also boost seating capacity next year 3 percent to 4 percent as the carrier adds six new aircraft to its fleet, Chief Executive Officer Bob Fornaro said.
