Continental Airlines Reports Increased Passenger Loads

Continental Airlines today reported an April consolidated load factor of 82.9
percent, 0.6 points above the April 2009 consolidated load factor and a mainline load factor of 83.4 percent, 0.3 points above the April 2009. Both April
load factors were records for the month. The carrier reported an April
domestic mainline load factor of 86.0 percent, 0.4 points below the April 2009 domestic mainline load factor, and a record international mainline load factor of 80.9 percent, 0.8 points above April 2009.

During April, Continental recorded a U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) on-time
arrival rate of 86.0 percent and a mainline segment completion factor of 98.5
percent.

U.S. Airlines See March Traffic Jump

Despite decline in its flying capacity, American Airlines’ traffic increased 2.5 percent in March over the same month in 2009. And while American doesn’t estimate revenues in its monthly traffic, US Airways said Monday that its March passenger unit revenues soared
18 percent over a year earlier.

Allegiant Air Reports First Quarter 2010 Profit

Allegiant Travel Co., parent of Allegiant Air, reported $22.6 million in net income for the first quarter. Operating revenue was up 19.4% to $169.6 million. Average aircraft in
operation increased by seven to 46, lifting seat capacity 16.9% from the
year-ago quarter to 1.56 billion ASMs while RPMs increased 17.7% to 1.37
billion. Load factor was 88.2%, up 0.6 point, the “eighth consecutive
quarter of load factors near or above 90%,” Gallagher said.
