Boeing forecasts that Airlines in North America will take delivery of 7,290 new airplanes over the next 20 years at a market value of $820 billion. This will require that over 70,640 pilots are hired and trained to fly them.

Alaska Airlines Orders Fifty 737 Max Aircraft
Seattle based Alaska Airlines and the Boeing Company have announced a firm order for 50 new 737s. The purchase is valued at more than $5 billion at current list prices and is the largest in Alaska Airlines’ history.

SkyWest and ExpressJet Traffic Climbs
SkyWest, Inc., reported that passenger traffic flying on its two subsidiaries, SkyWest Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines, in September increased 5.3 percent compared to figures from September of 2011. SkyWest boarded 4,831,914 passengers in September compared to 4,586,941 for the same period last year.
