Denver, North Carolina based Mountain Air Cargo sent Chief Pilot Paul Simpson and Director of Human Resources Kelly Corn to ATP’s headquarters in Jacksonville Beach to create a partnership with us to recruit ATP’s pilots to fly for them. Mountain Air Cargo (MAC) flies ATR 42s and 72s under Part 121, and Cessna 208 Caravans under Part 135 flying cargo exclusively for FedEx, which means that they fly only when FedEx flies. Having holidays and weekends off is a nice perk in the aviation industry, and MAC also offers higher starting salaries than the regional airlines do. Mountain Air Cargo is going to hire approximately 20 pilots over the remainder of the year and will be using PilotPool.com to recruit them. Pilots hired to fly for MAC can expect to be based in Memphis, Indianapolis or San Juan, Puerto Rico. Trips out of those bases will be flown to destinations in the eastern half of the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. MAC operates more than 60 aircraft flying more than 100 flights per day, carrying an average of 5 to 6 million pounds of air cargo each month.
