AirTran Airways today reported traffic for the month of March 2010. The airline's load factor and revenue passenger miles (RPMs) represent new all-time company records for both the month of March and for the first quarter.
The airline said its March traffic rose 9.6% to 1.74 billion revenue passenger miles or RPMs from 1.59 billion RPMs in the same period last year.
The airline's March capacity was 2.07 billion available seat miles or ASMs, up 5.5% from 1.97 billion ASMs in the prior year period. Load factor for March 2010 was 83.8%, up 3.1 points from 80.7% in March 2009.
