SkyWest Recruits Ten ATP Instructors into EIP Program

SkyWest Airlines has recruited ten more of ATP’s finest Instructors into the program that guides pilots from flight training with ATP directly into First Officer positions with one of the world’s largest regional airlines. SkyWest flew these Instructors to Salt Lake City to be inducted into SkyWest as employees while they continue to instruct and build flight experience at ATP.

Flying the Line: JetBlue

Chris King came to ATP in November of 2007 to begin training in our Jacksonville Florida Training Center. He had his Private Pilots License when he arrived so it only took about three months of training before he was ready and qualified to begin instructing at ATP JAX. Chris did an outstanding job for ATP and his students and it wasn’t long before he was ready to take the Regional Jet Program, where I happened to be his instructor. Chris did very well in the Program and was soon off to fly for American Eagle based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The rest is his story:

PSA Airlines Coming to ATP Jacksonville for Recruiting Event July 19th and 20th

ATP’s Recruiting Partner PSA Airlines is sending their executives to ATP’s Headquarters in Jacksonville Florida to speak with our Instructors and Students about flying PSA’s new 76-seat CRJ900s in the near future. PSA Vice President of Operations Randy Fusi will join his Director of Recruiting Mike Douglas in addressing an assembly of ATP personnel as well as others who PSA is inviting to the event. All attendees were invited using ATP’s recruiting tool, PilotPool.com.

Boeing Predicts Even More Aircraft Will Be Flying Soon

There will be even more opportunities to fly for the airlines then thought before. Although there is a shortage of pilots to fly the airliners that are presently in service, airliner manufacturer Boeing has raised the number of aircraft that it forecasts will be flying in 20 years. Boeing’s new 20-year industry forecast calls for 36,770 new airplanes over the next 20 years. That’s an increase of 4.2 percent compared to last year’s forecast.

Flying the Line: Longtail Aviation

Abe Godfrey arrived at our Trenton, New Jersey Flight Training Center (KTTN) in October of 2009 to begin training in ATP’s Airline Career Pilot Program. Seven months later Abe had earned all of his ratings, including his instructor ratings, and became an instructor for ATP teaching students in the Airline Career Pilot Program in Trenton where he had been a student. After building flight experience instructing at ATP, Abe took part in the Regional Jet Certification Program in Jacksonville, Florida and headed for the airlines. The rest is his story.

Corporate Aviation Recovers: 13,030 Business Jet Deliveries over Next 10 Years

Leading aerospace industry consulting firm, Teal Group, forecast that over 13,030 business aircraft worth $325.6 billion will be delivered to corporate flight departments over the next 10 years. The forecast includes 9,361 traditional business jets worth $262.4 billion; 537 airliners converted for business use as well as regional jet conversions worth a combined $44.1 billion; and 3,132 business turboprops worth $19.1 billion.
