Southwest Airlines Expects Continued Revenue Growth in December

Southwest Airlines expects another “exceptional” month of revenue growth for December, according to Chief Financial Officer Laura Wright. For November, Southwest saw its unit revenue rise an estimated 9%, and another impressive increase is expected for the current month, Wright said.

Southwest also reported Tuesday its combined Southwest/AirTran traffic rose 2.5% in November compared to a year ago. Southwest’s Load factor, or the percentage of available seats filled with passengers, in November rose to 81.6% from 80.2% last year. Unit revenue increased an estimated 9% for the month.
