FAA Forecasts One Billion US Passengers Flying by 2021

Officials from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have predicted that the number of airline passengers flying in the United States will increase 3.5 percent this year, and that the trend will continue with over one billion passengers traveling on US airliners by the year 2021. This updated forecast predicts that number will be reached two years sooner than previously projected.

Major Flight Training Summit Convened by AOPA

In November of 2010, we were asked to participate in the Flight Training Summit that was organized by the Airline Owners and Pilots Association and hosted by AOPA President Mark Fuller. ATP was represented by our Vice President Phil Cooper, who participated in the Summit with over 100 other industry stakeholders who had traveled to Long Beach to address the problem of aviation students dropping out of training at a startling rate approaching 80% at some training facilities.

Airline Transport Professionals (ATP) is fortunate enough to have a number of the talented Pilots who have graduated from ATP, gone on to fly for the Airlines and then partnered with ATP to provide an excellent mentoring program for aspiring airline pilots at BeAnAirlinePilot.com.
